Korean-Style Short Ribs

Korean-style short ribs, also known as Galbi or Kalbi, are a delicious and popular dish. Here's a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of beef short ribs, cut into thin slices (approximately 1/4 inch thick) - 1/2 cup soy sauce - 1/4 cup brown sugar - 2 tablespoons sesame oil - 4 cloves of garlic, minced - 1 small onion, grated - 2 tablespoons rice wine (or mirin) - 1 tablespoon sesame seeds - 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish) Instructions: 1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated onion, rice wine, and sesame seeds to create the marinade. 2. Place the short ribs in a large ziplock bag or a bowl, and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the ribs are coated evenly. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight in the refrigerator for better flavor. 3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. 4. Remove the ribs from the marinade and shake off any excess. 5. Cook the ribs on the preheated grill for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and slightly charred. 6. Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. 7. Serve the ribs hot, garnished with chopped green onions. They are traditionally eaten by wrapping the meat in lettuce leaves, along with some steamed rice, and optionally adding some ssamjang (a Korean spicy sauce) or other condiments of your choice. Enjoy your delicious Korean-style short ribs!
