Japanese beef skewers

Japanese beef skewers, also known as kushiyaki, are a popular type of yakitori (grilled skewered meat) in Japan. The meat used in kushiyaki can vary, but beef is a common choice. Here is a recipe for Japanese beef skewers:

Ingredients:

- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes

- 1/4 cup soy sauce

- 1/4 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)

- 2 tablespoons sake

- 1 tablespoon honey

- 1 garlic clove, minced

- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

- wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions:

1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, honey, garlic, and ginger. Mix well.

2. Thread the beef cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each cube.

3. Brush the beef skewers with the soy sauce mixture, making sure to coat them evenly.

4. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill with oil to prevent sticking.

5. Grill the skewers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked to your liking.

6. Serve the beef skewers hot with extra soy sauce mixture on the side for dipping. Enjoy!
