beef stew


 Here's a delicious beef stew recipe:


Ingredients:

- 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes

- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

- 2 tbsp vegetable oil

- 1 cup chopped onion

- 4 cloves garlic, minced

- 4 cups beef broth

- 2 cups chopped carrots

- 2 cups chopped potatoes

- 1 cup chopped celery

- 1 tsp dried thyme

- 1 bay leaf

- Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions:


1. In a large bowl, toss the beef cubes with the flour until they are well-coated.

2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the beef and brown it on all sides.

3. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until the onion is translucent.

4. Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine. Add the chopped carrots, potatoes, celery, thyme, bay leaf, and salt and pepper to taste.

5. Bring the stew to a boil then lower the heat to a simmer. Cover the pot and let the stew cook for about 2 hours, or until the beef and vegetables are tender.

6. Remove the bay leaf and serve the beef stew hot with crusty bread.
